Hosted by Frank Faulk Award winning documentary producer with CBC Radio One, this is the first Canadian Council of Churches Concert.
The St. Michael’s Choir School, the Salvation Army Staff Concert Band, Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church Choir, the world-famous Metropolitan United organ and carillon and many more musical performances.
During the Concert, The Very Rev. Dr. Marion Pardy, Archpriest Father Zareh Zargarian and Dr. Rick Tobias will be awarded the Eleos Award for Ecumenism in Social Justice.
Dr. Pardy is a former Moderator of The United Church of Canada, President of the St. John’s and Area Council of Churches which is a hotspot of Canadian ecumenism, and a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal.
Dr. Rick Tobias is former CEO, now Community Advocate, for the Yonge Street Mission. He believes that justice and inclusion should be the preoccupation of the entire church. He is also passionate about motorcycles.
Father Zargarian was born in Iran and has served the Church and world in both Armenia and Canada. Also a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal, he engages wide and diverse networks in Church, Government at all levels and Community for the sake of justice and healing for all.
Thomas Cardinal Collins, Moderator The Right Reverend Gary Paterson, Territorial Commander Brian Peddle and other senior church leaders will be present.
