The Secretary, Faith and Life Sciences works closely with the co-chairs of the Faith and Life Sciences Reference Group and other members of the Council team to develop, coordinate, and promote the Council’s commitment to Faith and Life Sciences.
This is an entry-level program position.
Skills and experience include theological studies from a post-secondary educational institution; comfort with video conference platforms; good communication and writing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and related components of Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in both English and French preferred, experience and/or interest in pastoral, denominational, and ecumenical issues.
Familiarity with gene editing and varieties of bio-enhancement of the human and non-human world; artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotization, brain-to-computer interface, and human enhancement is an asset.
The position will be 7 hours per week at an annualized pay rate of $11,692 (20% of an annual full-time equivalent amount of $58,461). The preferred start date is February 15, 2022 (negotiable).
