May 2020 Governing Board Meeting to be Held via Videoconferencing

Dear members and guests of the Governing Board of The Canadian Council of Churches:

After careful deliberation, your Executive Committee has agreed to change the May 13-15 Governing Board meeting in Quebec City to a trimmed-down meeting using a video conference format.

We are grateful that our venue, Le Monastère des Augustines, has officially informed us that all deposits will be honoured for rebookings within 18 months with no cancellation fees, therefore we are tentatively rebooking, subject to your approval in May, the same venue and location in Quebec City for May 2021.

Accommodations

If you have already booked your accommodations at Le Monastère, do not worry about cancelling the room, as Le Monastère des Augustines will do that for us within the next several days. They will process the cancellations and send a cancellation letter by email to each of you. You do not need to contact the venue. However, if you do not receive a room cancellation email, please contact us.

If you have booked accommodation elsewhere in Quebec City, please remember to cancel your reservation directly.

Travel

For those of you who have already made flight arrangements, if the parameters allow you to rebook with no or minimal cancellation fee, then it may be helpful for you to know that the spring 2021 Governing Board dates are currently scheduled for May 19-21, 2021.

May 13-15, 2020 Governing Board Video Conference Details
We are now making plans to trim the agenda and schedule for the upcoming Governing Board meeting (May 13-15) for a video conference format. Please hold the usual dates and times. New details and a schedule will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.

No doubt you are all deeply committed to community and compassion. We wish you strength, courage, and health in these unusual times.

In Christ,

Peter Noteboom
