Ernie Regehr Awarded Pearson Peace Medal

The United Nations Association in Canada has announced that Ernie Regehr is the 26th laureate of the Pearson Peace Medal, say a media release from Project Ploughshares, an ecumenical agency of The Canadian Council of Churches established in 1976 to implement the churches’ call to be peacemakers and to work for a world in which justice will flourish and peace abound.

The release notes that Mr. Regehr has completed his transition out of Project Ploughshares and has now taken up other writing and related work including a weekly column on his website,

He is pursuing his ongoing work under two new appointments as Research Fellow of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, Conrad Grebel University College, University of Waterloo, and as Fellow of The Simons Foundation in Vancouver.
