Congratulations Alyson and Amanda!

The Canadian Council of Churches would like to extend its sincere congratulations to two prominent supporters of ecumenism in Canada:

The Reverend Canon Alyson Barnett-Cowan, past president of the CCC, with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Archbishop Marcus Welby, and Archbishop Fred Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church in Canada.The Reverend Canon Alyson Barnett-Cowan, past president of the CCC, was awarded the Lambeth Cross for Ecumenism recently by the worldwide Anglican Communion for her longstanding commitment to promoting dialogue and discussion among Canada’s Christian communities. She received her award from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Archbishop Justin Welby, and Archbishop Fred Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church in Canada.

The Reverend Amanda Currie, a member of the Governing Board of the Council, has been named the sole nominee for the position of Moderator of the 2019 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, which takes place June 2-6, 2019 at Wilfred Laurier University in in Waterloo, Ontario.
