The Canadian Council of Churches is pleased to welcome Oikocredit to affiliate membership status.
Oikocredit is a worldwide co-operative society with a mission to promote global justice by challenging people, churches and others to share their resources through socially responsible investments and by empowering disadvantaged people with credit.
Oikocredit was founded at a meeting of the World Council of Churches in 1968 and has been active in Canada since the 1980s, with Past President of the Canadian Council of Churches Heather Johnston as a formative presence. There are Oikocredit support associations in West, Central and Atlantic Canada.
