A Prayer on the Death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022)

We mourn the death of our beloved monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, Head of the Commonwealth and Queen of the United Kingdom, whose long life was one of tremendous dedication and service. We remember her life of faith in Jesus Christ with deep affection and express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family.

Today we offer prayers for the new monarch, King Charles III, that he may reign with wisdom and humility.

May God save the King.

Sovereign God,
Today we give thanks for the life and service of Elizabeth II, Head of the Commonwealth and Queen of the United Kingdom.
We remember that of all her many titles and accomplishments, none is more royal and honourable than to be a child of God.
May we too, live lives of love and service to you, our Creator, to our fellow human beings, and to all your creation.
Steadfast in our beliefs and convictions, visible in our acts of duty, loyal to you and the families and communities where we belong.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Saviour of the World, Amen.
